Made with high-quality Amakusa porcelain clay, this bowl features a refined white base with a sense of translucency, adorned with colorful fan motifs. In Japanese culture, the fan (sensu) symbolizes prosperity and expansion, making it an auspicious design.

The vivid colors are painted using underglaze pigments—not overglaze—ensuring the patterns are fired at 1300°C. This method preserves the brilliance of the colors semi-permanently without fading over time.

With its generous size, this versatile bowl can be used in various ways—as a pasta plate, rice bowl, soup bowl, or even a large serving dish for simmered or stir-fried dishes.
